CATS AND YOU AND ME

I love Susan Halls quirky animals. She manages to capture the essence of the animal in her ceramic pieces. See Susan's website here  and Youtube video here

CATS AND YOU AND ME by Charles Bukowski

about
our argument tonight
whatever it was
about
and no matter
how unhappy
it made us
feel
remember that
there is a
cat
somewhere
adjusting to the
space of itself
with a delightful
grace

in other words
magic persists
without us
no matter what
we may try to do
to spoil it.

 "I know. I know.
they are limited, have different
needs and
concerns.

but I watch and learn from them.
I like the little they know,
which is so
much."

I couldn't resist this typical cat moment by HISSKISS.

    1. Hi Toni, I havn't had a cat in years because of my dogs (who don't get along with cats) but I do remember with fondness the humour they brought to my life.

  8. Love that last photo! Kind of like Pasha last night as he flung himself at the window because a small bird was fluttering there ( in the middle of the night, strange) but he had that CRAZY cat look on is face!! And I really love that top one!!

  9. Oh that top cat is wonderful, such a great expression and stance. I've always had a cat, sometimes several, some times many, and several times a cat and a dog, now I have three cats each with their own personality and stories about their many lives.

  12. oh, my goodness! you have done it again! a wildly fabulous post! These are such amazing works. I love the first one for it's delicious humour as well as it's spot on capture of "catness".

And of course the internet is all about cats, right? If you haven't seen this little cat video you must!

  18. Robyn, such a beautiful cat post! The poem led me to Garrison Keillor (after losing track for years) so that was a delight too. I love your last photo - don't you just recognise that look!

  21. I'm a "dog person". I don't like cats that much. But they like me, although I keep a distance . So my husband says that I just THINK I don't like them... And maybe he's right 'cause I read this wonderful post with such a pleasure! :) Thank you for the poems! And for the links - I'm most impressed by Valerie Davide's drawings!

    1. My step dad disliked cats but our Siamese would always look for him and sit on his lap or even around his neck. Eventually he grew to love her.

    2. Ha-ha! I had such an experience many years ago. We went to see new friends of ours. They had a HUGE cat!:) We were warned not to touch him or tease him. All the guests were sitting and chatting, ignoring the cat, when he, all of a sudden, walked along our thighs, reached me, lied down on my lap and fell asleep. Should I say how shocked I was?:)) The owners said this happened for the first time...
