SNOW

After a week of heat we are now surrounded by snow. A Winter wonderland in Spring.

It's not that common to have snow close by so everyone celebrated out in the countryside. Fields were filled with very happy rosy cheeked children having snow fights and building snowmen. All the cars coming back from the outskirts had snowmen on their bonnets. It really was a wonderful day!

  7. I saw that title and thought, "Snow? In South Africa?" Of course it is a big place and could have that but just doesn't cross my mental image of the place! Great photos.

  12. Serious?! Snow! - I love the first two images - they look like calendar photos - we are starting to cool way down here - 39degrees this morning and the furnace is on - in another month I'll be sitting here with a fire going in the stove.

  17. i had no idea it snowed in your part of the world until now.

did you know that we have these 'ironing men' who use heavy irons like the ones that you found in scrap. they use charcoal to heat it and nothing irons up clothes quite like these old irons do.i go to these men to iron up my cottons and linens. the irons themselves are such beautiful pieces.
