Season's Greetings and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Hope you are showered with socks and books.
"One can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books." - J.K.Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
Yes please socks and books and time to read them while wearing new socks!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Robyn!
Books at the top of the list!
DeleteMerry Christmas Robyn! xox
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim xoxo
DeleteBooks yes please. Socks....hmmmmmm....too hot here. May all the joys of the Festive Season be yours Robyn
ReplyDeleteToo hot here too. Books, books and more books ..... maybe one pair of socks for winter.
DeleteMerry Christmas. Showered? From what height?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.... not too high. We don't want to damage the books.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you and your family and lots of books, socks are always useful but not at this time of the year!

Deletehappy socks and books back at you! many books.
ReplyDeleteGlorious books! That's what I love about Christmas. It's Boxing day today .... our traditional stay at home book day.
DeleteCan I have a double serving of books, no socks?
ReplyDelete(almost to warm for socks in Berlin)...
All best!
Dumbledore get's the socks. We get the books :-)
DeleteI live in Austin, Texas and just discovered your site - your art is so compelling to me - I'm going to curl up in warm pajamas this evening after LIttle Boy is asleep for Christmas and look at all your beautiful work. Happy Holidays to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Happy Christmas to you.
DeleteMerry Christmas dear Robyn!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Heather! Happy happy to you and the furbabies.
Deletewarm socks and good books sounds wonderful to me, happy holidays to you and yours
ReplyDeleteThere's something very inviting about warm socks and books. It's a pity we are experiencing a heat wave!
Deleteand may your sock (Christmas stocking) if you have one, be filled with books! I have already finished one book given to me by friends (The Dalai Lama's Cat) which was wonderful. A small stack is building and I bought myself a Vogue Home Australia which is a total indulgence. Looking forward to your share of your Christmas books (if you choose).
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, relaxing holiday!
Boxing Day is our traditional Christmas book reading day.... leftovers and lolling with a book stack...... and the aircon on high.
DeleteHi R - thanks for your wishes and gifts of sharing throughout the year. May you also have a peaceful Christmas time. Go well. B
ReplyDeleteThanks Barry. It must feel strange being cool in New York compared to your usual steamy Australian Christmas. BTW I enjoyed your Richard Serra post. Ever since reading it I've been seeing rusty sheets of metal wherever we go. Amazing how one's attention becomes sharpened when something makes an impression on one.
DeleteDear Robyn,
ReplyDeleteMay your books bring much delight... those you give and those you receive!
No socks this stub-tropical location but books yes!! I suggested to a few family members maybe we could select some great reading material form the local library and surprise each other.
Well... she went ahead and actually did it. My brother is loving the amazing magazines she found he would never have otherwise read and I am delegated with the novel she chose and a video for our Xmas home-cinema experience this afternoon!
Best wishes to you all across the Indian Ocean!
S xo
Thanks so much Sophie. Yesterday at Christmas lunch we discussed celebrating in July so that we can appreciate a hot traditional lunch. It was a very steamy day here.
DeleteWhoops... "she" is my mother ... always a big fan of libraries and excited to share her finds!

ps Love your chosen photo in this post!
Reading Women who Run with the Wolves again after 20 years and loving it all over again, Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes does spin a good yarn! waiting for the xmas sales to buy the new socks and undies!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Run with Wolves in a while. Perhaps I need to add it to the stack and dip into it again.
DeleteWishing you a beautiful holiday season as well, Robyn, filled with beauty and laughter.
ReplyDeleteroxanne
Thank you Roxanne. Hope you're having a lovely day with your family.
DeleteBooks and socks...my favorites. But, you forgot underwear. In my daughter-in-law's family, if you get underwear, you have to put it on your head and have your picture taken. How this came about, I don't know, but it makes for some warm memories. So, warm Christmas memories to you and yours. Wishing you good health and much happiness.
ReplyDeleteBeth
Sounds like fun :-)
