It's time I took a break from blogging. I know .... I always say I'm going to take a break and never do because I just can't keep away but this time I have to be disciplined. A few great carving projects are coming up and I really need to put my nose to the grindstone so that I can meet deadlines. Keep the seat warm for me and I'll be back in a month or so to share a cuppa and chat.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE these images Robyn - made me smile at the end of a big day. Best wishes for your break and carving time - we need to find ways to enable us to do it all; and sequencing things is a s good a way as any. I'm not sure what my own solution is yet - still sorting that out! Go well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set of shots! I know what you mean about the projects calling. Wishing you lots of creative adventures.....I'm trying to spend less time online and sometimes I actually mange to stay away from the computer!!
ReplyDeleteWill really miss you but totally understand. Your posts are facinating but must take you an age to compile. When you return, just a pic or 2 of your lovely work once a week would be enough to keep us coming back, well, maybe the odd link here & there! Carve well, my friend ;)
ReplyDeleteEye candy! I love the paper mache tea cup.
ReplyDeleteOh! what a delightful post to leave us to contemplate. we'll miss you and understand. catch you later.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your carvings. I hope all goes good. I will look forward to a viewing of your accomplishments.
ReplyDeleteRobyn,
ReplyDeleteJust to wish you a great time in the studio, carving! Again this was a wonderful post, thank you, see you in a month or so...
Best, from the Caribbean,

Somehow the idea of "nose to the grindstone" and your carving brought up a picture in my mind. I didn't know that's how you did it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I'm glad you know when you need to take a break from blogging. It should never feel like an obligation. Artists will understand...and miss you too.
xoxo Kim

I love tea and coffee imagery - the cups, circles, sharing, and the quiet thoughtful moments they imply.
You have served up some lovely examples and I will reciprocate in kind later today...

The cup images make me think, I guess, because of the association with sipping and thinking... and I'm thinking about what great images these are, and about how we'll miss you, but are so happy for you that you're carving, which I know makes you happy!

Dear Robyn-I have been thinking about you so much lately beacuse I just watched Envictus last week. Any S.A. movie brings back so many many memories and then..I automatically think of ..YOU!!! So glad you are taking a break...sometimes we really need it:) Oh!!! I just love these teacups...all of them!!! The paper mache one and the first 2 by Priscilla...what is it about teacups?? Strangely enough..I just bought a few china cups this weekend at an antique store. They are just...dreamy! Sending you lots of love and hugs across the miles xxx

ReplyDeleteTea and coffee cups..hmmm..lovely thought. I am just going for a coffee now.
ReplyDeleteYour wonderful posts always fill me with so much inspiration to do new work Robyn. What will we do without you for a few months? Nevertheless go and chill out for a while and get on top of your projects. Blogs can be quite consuming and we have to step back from them from time to time. I look forward to your return.
R- loved the image of the stamped spoons with the letter background - gave me a sense of quietly having a coffee whilst connecting with someone. Thanks for more of your art detective work. B

ReplyDeletei love all those images of coffee and tea.
ReplyDeletei also love that you're having to discipline yourself to take a break from your blog. i read a lot people apologizing for taking a break, and it often seems like it might feel like a chore for them. i'm glad you love it so much you have to force a break.
Delightful post Robyn, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing new carvings you'll create on your blog break. There will be many pots on the fire in many kitchens, waiting for you.

ReplyDeleteI've been on a 'life got busy and I didn't see that coming break!' and I'm having to be diciplined in order to come back!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what the break brings about for you:)
A wonderful post, Robyn! I love every photo of the tea cups etc.. I had fun making a "Lace" teacup for a Uni assignment last year and that was fun.
