Elfi Cella is a wonderful artist from Switzerland. I don't know who found who's blog first but from the first day of discovery I have been enchanted with her work. She incorporates buckles and zippers, buttons and lace and all sorts of other bits and pieces into her exquisite paintings. These mundane objects take on a new life, surprising all who view them.
Love the shirtscape!
.... and this piece below, using old lace and paintbrushes? It is one of my favourites!
I love these! Creativity will never cease to amaze and delight me! Thanks Robyn!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely charming, thank you for the information, I will go straight to her blog to see more of her work.
ReplyDeleteHer paintings are beautiful and the way she incorporates textiles is quirky and clever. I wouldn't have noticed those paint brushes had u not pointed them out. Once again thanks Robyn for showing us someones work we might not have otherwise meet. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust exquisite! Thank you for the introduction.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment! The above post's work is quite Daliesque, strange but wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour last post was great, too, I will spend more time looking at the 10min collage, I've not tried a square with a mag before, but I'm not sure if I'll achieve the squares speaking to me! (I'll try) Can definately relate to the 2 personalities in one, the difference between 'should' & 'I am'.
Happy Easter to you & yours!
unique and beautiful melding of paint and cloth

ReplyDeletetwo things: first of all finding your blog was a real treat! today is a rainy, gloomy day in northern california, and i decided to take a day away from the studio and just "hang out", and see what other artists are up to, and i came across your terrific blog. what a delight!

ReplyDeleteAs nearly as I can tell from dimly remembered, even more dimly learned high school French (and some help from Google translator) she says:
ReplyDeletethank you for the [wink].
I am honored, but unpretentious
My work amuses me [or: my work is fun]
And thank you for all these kind comments.
I learned English at school, a long time ago, I just have not enough to thank you in English.
OMG do I believe in that serendipity stuff! She left a comment on my blog this morning so I went over to hers to check her out and loved her work-- so creative-- and then I come here to your blog and find you have already discovered her work-- yes, very creative and whimsical

ReplyDeleteRobyn - I've got you nearly hyperventilating on my Barter Circle blog? Ha ha. Thank you so much for introducing her to us!
